Arte e Moda: Louis Vuitton e Yayoi Kusama.
Dopo Richard Prince e Takashi
Murakami, Louis Vuitton s’immerge nei
folli meandri di Yayoi Kusama. L’artista
In
After Richard Prince and Takashi Murakami, Louis Vuitton plunges in the Yayoi Kusama’s mad meanders. The
Japanese artist has designed a capsule collection characterized by obsessive polka
dots, symbols of opposite concepts like infinity and delimitation. The same
polka dots that populate the psychic worlds of her installations and that - in
some works - cover the Yayoi’s body
to communicate a distressing, self-destructive aspiration.
The collection -
showed in Paris on the 10th of July at the same time with the
opening of the retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York -
will be available in all the LV boutiques from the 11th of July. In
fall there will be the second part of the project, dedicated to biomorphyc nerves,
other Kusama’s distinctive pattern.

provocatoria e potente. Risultato conseguito e rafforzato nel tempo dagli otto designer
che si sono succeduti al posto di Gaby;
Everybody knows Stella McCartney and Phoebe
Philo’s looks for Chloé. But not
everyone knows that the fashion house has been existing since 1952 and was
founded by Gaby Aghion with the idea
of a carefree, modern, feminine but also provocative and powerful fashion. This
result has been obtained and reinforced by the eight designers that have
succeeded Gaby, among which there
was Karl Lagerfeld. The fashion
house will celebrate its 60th anniversary with the first
retrospective about the Chloé world.
From the 29th of September until the 18th of November the
Palais de Tokyo will host Chloé
Attitudes by Judith Clark: a
thematic path that ranges from emblematic designs to epoch-making images like
Guy Bourdin’s pics or the portrait of Gaby. Celebrations will continue in
stores, where in February 2013 the reissue of Chloé’s sixteen iconic pieces will arrive; among them the Violin
dress by Karl Lagerfeld (s-s 1983),
the Pineapple shirt by Stella McCartney
(s-s 2001) and the Paddington bag by Phoebe
Philo (s-s 2005).
